In May 1985, Dr. Samuel P. Geisberg established Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC), originally known as SPG Consulting Corporation. Dr. Geisberg, who was born in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1936, obtained his Ph.D. in mathematics and served as a mathematics professor at Leningrad University before immigrating to the United States in 1974.
