Meropy, a French startup specializing in agricultural robotics, has introduced an innovative approach to monitoring field crop plots. Their product, known as SentiV, is an autonomous scouting robot designed with modularity and lightweight features. It navigates through plots, scanning all vegetation using a set of sensors and a unique wheel system that ensures crop preservation and rapid movement.
SentiV offers a level of plot detail beyond human observation capabilities. It can determine crop nutrient and water requirements, detect biological threats, track plant growth, and optimize phenotyping. Remarkably, this robot can cover up to 50 acres of crops per day, resulting in significant time and cost savings for farmers.
