About

Astroscale is a cutting-edge company in the space industry, offering on-orbit services and multiple space orbit capabilities. With a focus on sustainability, Astroscale is committed to providing innovative solutions for space debris mitigation and removal.

Founded in 2013, Astroscale has quickly established itself as a leader in the space industry. The company's mission is to secure long-term spaceflight sustainability by developing innovative solutions for removing space debris and minimizing the risks of collisions in space.

Astroscale offers a range of on-orbit services, including end-of-life services for satellites, active debris removal, and satellite servicing. Their spacecraft technologies are designed to perform multiple orbital maneuvers, enabling them to capture, deorbit, and dispose of space debris.

In addition, Astroscale's space orbit capabilities include precision tracking, analysis, and prediction of space debris movement, as well as satellite constellation management. This provides clients with the ability to track their satellites in real-time and make necessary adjustments to avoid potential collisions.

Cleaning Outer Space Mission through Innovative Capture

Astroscale's Cleaning Outer Space Mission through Innovative Capture (COSMIC) is set to utilize the company's rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) and robotic debris capture capabilities to remove two inactive British satellites from Earth's orbit by 2026.

This new debris removal service builds upon the success of ELSA-M, a commercial partnership between Astroscale, the European and UK Space Agencies, and global satellite operator OneWeb, which leverages technology developed during the ELSA-d in-orbit demonstration.

To further facilitate the development of COSMIC, Astroscale will be designing and integrating the mission at their Zeus satellite integration and operations facilities located at the Harwell Science & Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, UK.

This endeavor is part of Astroscale's efforts to stimulate the growth of the on-orbit commercial servicing economy, creating new job opportunities, enhancing national capability, and establishing world-leading facilities in the UK.
