Orbotic Systems, a privately held company based in Thousand Oaks, California, is advancing human progress in low Earth orbit (LEO) with unconventional space technology. The company was created to address the growing threat of space debris.
Areas of development for Orbotic Systems include space debris remediation, alternative spacecraft propulsion, and new satellite technologies like their D3. The D3 device allows SmallSat operators to inexpensively maneuver, orientate, and deorbit their spacecraft in LEO without any explosive propellant. This new technology was developed by a team from NASA and Orbotic Systems.
The company’s founder and president, Erik T. Long, has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry including project management. After two years of concerted effort, Orbotic Systems is ready to release its first product to mitigate space debris.
