JAXA is the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. It is responsible for the development and implementation of Japan’s aerospace program. JAXA was created in 2003 through the merger of three organizations: the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS), the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA), and the Aerospace Exploration Agency (AEA).
