AMP Robotics is a Denver, Colorado-based startup that specializes in creating robotic systems that sort recyclable material. The company has recently raised $91 million in equity investment from new and existing investors to help scale its business operations, continue its international expansion, and continue innovating new technology applications for the waste industry. AMP Robotics has deployed hundreds of sorting devices globally to increase recycling rates and landfill diversion.
The company is modernizing and scaling the world’s recycling infrastructure by applying AI and automation to increase recycling rates and economically recover recyclables reclaimed as raw materials for the global supply chain. The company’s founder, Matanya Horowitz, envisions solving the overtaxed system with 300-pound robots that can identify objects as small as a bottlecap, noting color, size, shape, and even brand. Robotic arms sort items into bins at 80 picks per minute, more than twice as fast as human sorters and with greater accuracy.
